8th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) 2010 was held at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi on 07-09 January 2010. The theme of this year’s event was “Engaging the Diaspora: The Way Forward“. The ninth PBD 2011 Convention will be held at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, from 7-9 January 2011.The theme of PBD-2011 will be “Engaging the Global Indian”.

The 14th ordinary summit of the African Union (AU) was held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia from Jan 25 – 2 Feb 2010. The official theme of the summit was: ‘Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) in Africa: Challenges and Prospects for Development.

Economist Conferences hold its 16th annual The Pharma Summit 2010 in London on 11th Feb., 2010. The theme this year was ‘Competing in the future healthcare system’.

Asian Regional Summit 2010, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

The World LPG Association (WLPGA) held an Asian Regional Summit on 23 February 2010 in Kuala Lumpur. The theme of the Summit was “LP Gas: Exceptional Energy for Asia”. The WLPGA is supported by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) ‘Energy 4 All’ programme.

16th ASEAN Summit, Hanoi

The 16th Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit  was held in HANOI capital of Vietnam from 8 – 9 April 2010.

Global Nuclear Security Summit 2010, Washington

First Global Nuclear Security Summit 2010 was held in Washington, USA on 12-13th April 2010. The Summit focused on how to better safeguard weapons-grade plutonium and uranium to prevent nuclear terrorism. The next Nuclear Security Summit is scheduled to be held in 2012 in South Korea

16th SAARC Summit, Thimpu (Bhutan)

The 16th South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) Summit was held Thimpu capital of Bhutan between april 28th-29th 2010. Bhutan hosted the SAARC summit for the first time.Mahinda Rajapaksa addressed the summit with the theme: “Towards a green and happy South Asia”.The 17th SAARC Summit will be held in Maldives’ capital Male in 2011

The 2010 BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India, China: A group of emerging powers) summit was held at Brasilia, capital of Brazil on April 16, 2010. This was the second BRIC summit after Yekaterinburg(Russia) in 2009.The next BRIC summit will be held in China in 2011

4th India-Brazil-South Africa (IBSA) summit was held on April 15, 2010 at Brasília, Brazil. The 5th IBSA Summit will be held in South Africa in October 2011

19th World Wide Web Conference 2010, Raleigh (USA)

19th International World Wide Web (WWW) Conference 2010 was held at Raleigh,NC (USA) on April 26-30, 2010.The next 20th global annual World Wide Web Conference (WWW 2011) will be held in Hyderabad, India during March 28 to April 1, 2011.The theme for the conference will be ‘Web for all’, which aims to promote the all-inclusive aspect of the Web.

Second meeting of the Indian Ocean Naval Symposium (IONS) was  held in Abu Dhabi, UAE  on 10-12 May 2010.

The 99th International Labour Conference (ILC 2010) was held at. Palais des Nations in Geneva between 2-18 June 2010 with around 4000 government, employer and workers from allover the world.

36th G-8 Summit 2010, Huntsville Ontario, Canada

2010 G8 (Group-8) Summit was held in Huntsville Ontario Canada from June 25 and 26, 2010 .This was the fifth G8 Summit hosted by Canada since 1976. The theme of this summit was “Recovery and New Beginning,”. Next 2011 G8 summit will be held in the southeastern French seaside resort of Nice.

World Classical Tamil Conference 2010, Coimbatore

First World Classical Tamil Conference (WCTC) was held at Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu from 23rd – 27th of June, 2010.The theme song of this conference was ‘Pirapokkum Ella Uyirkkum’ written by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi, music by A.R. Rahman.

4th G-20 Summit 2010, Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

The 2010 G20 (Group of 20) Summit was held on June 25 and 26, 2010 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.The 5th G-20 Summit will be held in Seoul (South Korea) in November 2010.

21. 15th African Union (AU) Summit 2010, Kampala

15th Ordinary Session of the Summit of the African Union was take place in Kampala Uganda from 19 to 27 July 2010, under the theme: “Maternal, Infant and Child Health and Development in Africa”.

22. 18th International AIDS Conference, Vienna

The XVIII International AIDS Conference (AIDS 2010) was held at Vienna, Austria from 18-23 July 2010 under the theme “Rights Here, Right Now.”

7th Developing Eight Nations (D-8) Summit was held in Abuja, Nigeria on 4-7 July 2010.The theme of the summit was “Enhancing Investment Cooperation among D-8 Members” .The next 8th D-8 summit will be held in Pakistan in 2012

WWF’s Tiger Summit 2010, St. Petersburg, Russia

Armed with a global action plan for restoring wild tiger population, leaders of the 13 Tiger Range Countries (TRCs) will meet in St Petersburg, Russia from 21-24 November 2010. The ‘Tiger Summit’ scheduled for September will now be held in November.
